In order to more widely engage our community, the team has been meeting with our local High School. We'd like to see robotics become a club at the school, where it is open to more students, has facilities and a wider range of resources. It would also be fun to compete against neighboring schools as a school team.
To that end, we've petitioned the school to form a club and met with them several times to advance this project. The application has been denied, but they did offer our team access to the "Corral" for team meetings, use of the space for building the robot, and setting up the game field. Our feeling is that we should use this space so that other students, who may not be aware what robotics is all about, can interact with our team. It will be a good opportunity for increasing our exposure at school.
If we set up shop at the Corral, we will be in a public space. In order to keep our area looking tidy, organized and secure, we are looking for a lockable jobsite tool box. I'm showing some examples (below) of what we'd like to find. The more storage the better, but one with a work surface like the antique on the right, has some advantages. We will repaint the box and add our logos, so if anyone has a used one with some miles on it, we will gladly refurbish it.
Please contact us if you are willing to donate a jobsite toolbox. [email protected]
We have 501(c)3 status so we can provide a receipt for your donation for tax purposes.
