We drove into Chicago to the Season Kickoff organized by Crazy Eights, Team 116. The day started in the gymnasium where we got our first look at this season's competition field. It was fun speculating what the game would be based on what we saw.

The ramps look pretty slippery. You can see the shine in the photo above. The tubes are on little wheels and are of three different sizes with one being quite tall. The balls are baseball and golf size wiffle balls. We didn't have much of an idea about the game play at this point. We only had to wait a couple of hours before the Worldwide unveiling.
We used the library for the discussions of the Engineering Notebook, Rookie Year, Creo, LabView, and RobotC. These discussions are a great way to get your head back in the game. Sometimes the finer points get hazy after a few months of off season.
It was good to see our friends from last year and make new friends with the other teams. We were particularly excited to see the Team from Dalton, who we met at the Indiana qualifier in Gary and then again the next week at Highland Park.
